Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, a compassionate establishment has served the Checotah and McIntosh County communities with dignity since its inception. Originally opened in August 1988 as Hampton Mortuary, the facility was purchased by Carter Bradley in 2011, marking the beginning of a new chapter as Checotah Funeral Service. Under his stewardship, the funeral home became known for its commitment to providing affordable and caring funeral arrangements.
In 2020, the business transitioned once more when Jay and Kathy Hunn acquired Checotah Funeral Service. They undertook significant renovations to modernize the building, renaming it Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The Hunn's have been devoted to funeral care in the region, having owned Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Eufaula since 2001.
Jay Hunn, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, continues to lead the funeral home with a deep commitment to serving families in their times of need. Hunn Funeral Home remains dedicated to providing meaningful support, ensuring that each family's wishes are honored, whether through traditional burial services, graveside services, or cremation and memorial services.
