Zelma Dean (Christian) Hollis

Zelma Dean Hollis, 87, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024.

She was born September 4, 1937, in Checotah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Fred Christian and Alta (Farley) Christian.

Zelma graduated from Checotah High School in 1956.  She married Billy Frank Hollis on May 18, 1956 in Checotah, Oklahoma.

Zelma worked for Walmart until the age of 75. She volunteered at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee, and was a member of Boston Avenue Baptist Church in Muskogee.

Zelma was passionate about OU Football, was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include her sons, Keith Hollis and his wife Anita, Larry Hollis both of Haysville, Kansas and Jon Hollis and his wife Sandy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; her brother, Bob Christian and his wife Brenda of Muskogee, Oklahoma; her sister-in-law and primary care giver, Nancy Clark of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alta Christian; her husband, Billy Frank Hollis and her brothers and sisters, Oleta Jones, Freddie Ray Christian, Bill Christian, Betty Triblehorn, Calvin Christian, Joyce Glover, Jimmy Christian and Loyce Caudill.

Viewing for Zelma will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  The family will greet friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Checotah.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 11, 2024 at Boston Avenue Baptist Church, 201 S. 30th St., Muskogee, Oklahoma 74401 with Pastor Tim Perkins officiating.

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah.
