Virginia June Chulufas

Virginia June Chulufas, 89, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Virginia was born on April 3, 1935, in Tabler, Oklahoma.

Virginia attended school at Lutie.  On April 5, 1979, she married Robert Lee Chulufas. They were married for thirty-five years.

Virginia was a homemaker who loved attending Calvary Baptist Church. In her free time, Virginia enjoyed fishing, shopping, sewing and gardening. 

Survivors include her daughter, Carla Watson and husband, Robert of Checotah; sons, Thomas Mathis of Checotah and Kevin Mathis and wife, Angie also of Checotah; sisters, Freda Wallace of Oklahoma City and Lucille Reed of Oklahoma City; brother, Atha Brooks and wife, Marcie of McLoud; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters: Charlene, Claudine, Lorene and a grandson, Damon.

Memorial Services for Virginia will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, 417360 East 1135 Rd., Checotah, Oklahoma 74426.
