Virgil A. Shivers

Virgil A. Shivers, 69, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  

Virgil was born on May 30, 1956, in Cleburne, Texas to Virgil Lee Shivers and Betty (Carter) Shivers. 

Virgil was of the Baptist faith, he served proudly in the United States Navy.  Virgil was a caregiver for his mother, Betty Shivers, father, Virgil Lee Shivers and best friend, Lonnie Smith until each of their passing. 

 At the time of Virgil's passing he was assisting in taking care of his 82-year-old cousin, Buddy Dill of Checotah, Oklahoma. 

Virgil is survived by a daughter, Jessica Trumble and his grandchildren from Washington; three sisters, Connie Cox, Rena Farley and Lynn Shivers all of Texas. 

Virgil is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Lee and Betty Shivers and younger brother, James Shivers. 

Honoring Virgil, cremation is planned.  No services have been scheduled at this time.
