Veda Kaye (Lane) Standridge

Veda Kaye Standridge, 67, passed peacefully from this life on February 22nd, 2022, in Checotah, Oklahoma surrounded by her family.  She was born in Checotah, Oklahoma on January 24, 1955, to Lattie (Bob) and Billie (Acker) Lane.

She attended Eufaula schools and graduated high school from Antlers, Oklahoma in 1973. She married Carl Standridge, Jr. in 1977 at Antlers, Oklahoma.  They had over 44 years together before her passing.  

Veda worked as a factory seamstress in Hugo, Oklahoma and Checotah.  She always made sure that her family's headstones were decorated with flowers.  She enjoyed going to Braum's and attending George Strait concerts.  She like to ride around Lake Eufaula and enjoyed tending her flower garden.  Roses were her favorite.  But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Veda was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Billie Lane; brothers, David Lane and Paul (Skeet) Lane; sisters, Donna Kirby and Marylin Lane.  She is survived by her husband, Carl, who resided in the home; son, Jason Lane and Crystal of Warner, Oklahoma; daughters, Crystal Michaud and Roger of Checotah, and Sierra (Cole) Standridge and Kimi Snyder of Aimes, Iowa; brothers, Robert Lane and Darlene of Eufaula, Walter (Diggem) Lane and Debbie of Checotah, Jack Lane and Kelli of Checotah, and Bobby Joe Lane and Opal of Hugo, Oklahoma; sisters, Patricia Fritz and Randy of Checotah, Lois Walters and Lee of Harrah, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Thomason and K.D. of Celest, Texas; grandchildren, Allison Michaud, Desiree Lane, and Alexander Lane; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be open to family and friends 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the Hunn Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Okmulgee Ave., Checotah, OK.  A celebration of Veda's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Hunn Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will be in the Triplett Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Lane, Kyle Goddard, Hunter Lane, Dylan Lane, Cody Lane, Joseph Miles, James Lane, Roger Michaud, Zachery Ginn, and Daniel Holt. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Haggard, Billy Darnell, and David Frazier.
