Obituary

Susan Marie Lackey (Susie) passed away on Sept 4 2021. She was born on June 28 1963 in Tulsa ok, to James & Vera (Marlene) Short. She attended Broken Arrow High School were she was in band and pep club and even showed a jersey calf in the FFA . She attended Broken Arrow Beauty College, where it was noted from family members that she gave the best perm ever! She absolutely loved the outdoors and fishing and also loved rock collecting (her favorite stone was lapis lazuli). She passed these hobbies on to her kids and grandkids and loved going on adventures with them. Susie loved to cook for anyone and everyone , and was very good at it. Her homemade chinese food was famous in the neighborhood and everyone loved it. Have I mentioned she also loved to fish?? and anytime she went fishing with us, she always caught the most fish no matter what bait we used!! When her health declined and she was not outdoors as much, she truly enjoyed in her words "shitposting" on her Facebook meme groups, and chatting with her good online friends like Leeanne Pickering. She had many online friends she loved to chat with daily and joke around with. She had a great sense of humor and a heart of gold and will be deeply missed. She lives on through her sister, Valerie Padgett, husband Sam and family; sister, Belinda McCloud and her husband Greg; her daughter, Patty Byrd and husband Matt; daughter, Holly Lackey and husband Chris Gierut; her son, James Lackey and wife Madison, and all of her grandkids who she loved dearly : Blayze Byrd, James Herron, Junior Gierut, Rylie Lackey, Lylie Lackey, and Luna Lackey as well as many many close friends and family.
