Shirley May Moore passed away on June 7, 2023, after a long life of 98 years in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She was born April 21, 1925, in Titusville, Pennsylvania to Blanche Susan Davis and Robert Howard Fulton. She is the last surviving sibling of her brothers and sister, Ivan Fulton, Patricia Duncan, Charles Fulton, John David Fulton (Jackie), Robert Fulton and Skip Fulton.
Shirley graduated from high school in Muskogee, Oklahoma and then married and had a son, Jim Little and daughter, Patricia Smart. She then remarried and had a son, Mcclain Moore and daughter, Peggy Hollis.
Shirley was blessed with three grandchildren, Lindsey Green, Emily Little and Jamie Little and five great grandchildren.
Shirley lived an active and productive life until her health failed suddenly 12 months ago, and she was admitted to Eastgate Village Healthcare Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma where she lived until her passing. The nurses and staff at Eastgate cared a great deal about Shirley and gave her exceptional care. Her hospice nurse, Kim played a very important role in the final days of Shirley’s life and Kim showed great love toward Shirley.
Shirley was a wonderful loving mother who loved her children, family and friends. She was kind, generous and thoughtful to everyone she knew. She showed her love and appreciation through the most wonderful homemade meals. Many of the treats she made would consist of delicious cakes and pies that she would share with anyone who helped her when she needed something. She was also an amazing seamstress and made a lot of her family's clothes. Her home was always decorated beautifully. She made over 300 Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls over the years and gifted many of them.
Shirley was employed for many years as a bookkeeper. She worked at a bank and then the City of Tulsa. She was known for her strong math abilities and organization. She raised her children at a young age in Honor Heights Methodist Church. She later attended Trinity Presbyterian Church where she made many friends.
Shirley’s legacy will be known as a kind and soft-spoken lady who never said any unkind words about anyone. She was the best example and the best mother anyone could ever have.
Shirley will be greatly missed. Her family and friends will continue to keep her memory eternal.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 7600 Old Taft Rd., Muskogee, Oklahoma 74401. Interment will follow.
