Sandy Fells Obituary
Rosanne "Sandy" Dorothy Fells, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away on February 6, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 66. She was born on February 7, 1950, in Hempstead, New York, to George Jr. and Dorothy Norman. As a young child, Sandy enjoyed spending summers with her many cousins at the family lake house in New Jersey. Her family moved to California in 1957. Her father was a Lutheran minister, and she enjoyed helping him in the church and singing in the choir. One of her favorite activities was cruising with her friends.
After marriage, she began the task of raising her children and taking care of her own family, first in La Mirada, California, then in McIntosh County, Oklahoma. She also settled in to the role of do-it-all manager for the family's electrical contracting business, and continued the same until retirement in 2010. She loved her family and she loved her dogs, Richie and Zoey.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis E. Fells, Sr.; and parents, George Jr. and Dorothy Norman. Sandy is survived by her sons, David and Ray, of Checotah, Joe, of Florida, and Dennis Jr., of North Carolina; one brother, David, of California; five grandchildren, Amber, of Colorado; Tyler, Wyatt, and Cheyenne, of Eufaula and Deven, of New Mexico.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Sandy Fells was held at 10:30 am, Saturday February 11, 2017 at the Checotah Funeral Chapel with Brother Wendell Cox officiating.
