Ronald Gene Beaver was taken from this life much too early on January 19, 2021. He was born in Checotah, Oklahoma on May 29, 1955 to Ronald and Doris (Laughlin) Beaver.
He met Carol Massey in September of 1971 while they were both juniors in high school. They were married in November of 1973 made their home in Checotah. Gene worked at the McIntosh County Democrat as a press operator for several years, RDS Manufacturing, and Checotah Building Supply. In 1986 he went to work at Georgia Pacific and retired in 2017.
Gene loved his family beyond measure. He loved his kids and worked hard providing for them. He helped coach their little league baseball teams, took them to stock shows and rarely missed their softball, baseball and soccer games. His grandkids, well they were the apples of his eyes He loved having the 3 of them and taking them out to the pasture to run wild and play or fish in one of the ponds and of course, taking a spin on the golfcart. He enjoyed spending time on his farm and working his cattle. Every day after he checked his cattle, he went around town for his daily check ins on his buddies. He was faithful at making sure his parents were ok. He would talk to them several times a day just to check on them. He was the master of making up fun games for the whole family to enjoy at Christmas.
