Roger Lee Beaver, 66, passed peacefully from this life, February 20th, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. Roger was born June 22nd, 1955, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to his parents, Donald and Thelma (Winkle) Beaver.
Roger attended Checotah high school graduating in 1973. He served as an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper retiring after 26 years of service. Roger met Colleen Craig at the OHP headquarters in Muskogee in May 1989. They were married later that year enjoying over 32 years together before his passing.
He was a member of the Checotah Masonic Lodge #86 for 24 years and had served as Master of the Lodge. He also served as District Deputy Grandmaster for two years. He was a Scottish Rite 32nd degree Mason and a York Rite Knights Templar. Roger was also a Shriner with the Bedouin Shrine Temple in Muskogee.
Roger was a motorcycle enthusiast. He rode his Harley in three Iron Butt Challenges. He was a founding member and past president of the Liberty Riders Motorcycle Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald. He is survived by his wife, Colleen, of the home; mother, Thelma Winkle Beaver; daughter, Amanda Nester and husband Randy of Checotah and their children, Christian, Jordyn and Kaitlyn; son, Adam Beaver and wife Amanda of Palmer, Alaska and their children, Austin, Evan and Eli; brother, Jody Beaver and wife Penny of Checotah and their children, Allen, Aaron, Eric and Andrea; special sister, Tina Womack and husband Robert of Checotah and their children Hanna and RJ; along with many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
