Robert Jack Meeks, Sr. passed from this life on July 25th, 2022. Jack was born November 24th, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to D.A. and Nellie Shelton Meeks.
Jack grew up in Muskogee and attended Muskogee schools where he played basketball. He entered the military in 1976 serving in the Army National Guard.
He met Betty Hall in 1987. They were together for 35 years. Jack worked at the Muskogee Feed Mills and Hamlin's Mexican Restaurant. On the side, he worked on lawnmowers, cars, and anything mechanical. He enjoyed fishing, pitching horseshoes, and listening to classic country music. But most of all, Jack enjoyed his family time on the weekends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, D.A. and Nellie Meeks; brother, David Meeks; sisters, Peggy Meeks and Melvann Long; granddaughter, Christina Noel Meeks; and nephew, Carrol Meeks. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hall of the home; brothers, Willy Meeks of Muskogee, Frank Meeks and wife Sally of Muskogee, and and Tim Meeks of Roland, Oklahoma; sister, Louise Sims of Porum Landing; sons, Robert Jack Meeks II and wife Tiffany of Muskogee, Manuel Meeks of Muskogee; daughter, Candace Meeks of Eufaula; and 9 grandchildren.
Viewing will be 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, July 30 at the Hunn Funeral Home chapel. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at Fairview Baptist Church, 3510 W. Peak Blvd., Muskogee at 10:00 a.m., August 1, 2022. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Muskogee.
