Robbie Joe Smith

Robbie Joe Smith, 62, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

He was born on April 26, 1963, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of Darrell Joe Smith and Sue Marilyn (Ginn) Smith.

Robbie graduated from Warner High School in 1981 and went on to work as an OG&E Rigger for OG&E at the power plant in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  He was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Muskogee.

As a child, Robbie spent nearly every weekend at his grandma and grandpa Smith’s house, where he loved the simple joys of farm life — feeding animals, exploring the outdoors, playing Dominoes with his Uncle Don and soaking up every bit of country peace he could. Those early days shaped his lifelong appreciation for quiet places and good company.

Robbie married Judith Lynn Rhodes on August 31, 1985, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Together they spent 40 amazing years filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

After leaving OG&E, Robbie proudly became a professional homebody. He could often be found relaxing in his favorite chair, Pepsi in hand, and a cigarette always within reach — perfectly content in the comfort of home and the company of those he loved.

Robbie enjoyed many things — photography, computers and fishing were just a few of the passions that filled his time. He was also a dedicated Star Trek fan, with a humor and curiosity that would've fit right in on the Enterprise.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith Smith of the home; his daughter, Lynda Michelle Smith and her significant other, Christian Willis of Muskogee; his loving dog, Sookie; and a host of cousins. He is also survived by his good friends Lynda Pathammavong and her husband, Abe of Muskogee; Charlie Roller and David Ryla of Muskogee; and Mike Hendrix and his wife, Angie of Oklahoma City.

Robbie was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Sue Smith.

Honoring Robbie's wishes, cremation is planned. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held after the first of the year, in early 2026.
