Rickey “Rick” Hamm, 70, of Oktaha, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
He was born June 3, 1954, in Checotah, Oklahoma, the son of Garner O. Hamm and Nellie Estell (Hammond) Hamm.
Rick graduated from Checotah High School in 1972. He furthered his education attending Connors State College and then receiving his Bachelor of Agriculture Education from Oklahoma State University in 1976.
Rick was employed with Jay Hodge Chevrolet in Muskogee as General Manager before his retirement. He enjoyed farming, tending to his cattle and spending time with his family and friends.
He married Christina Blankenship on June 17, 1994 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They were happily married for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Christina Hamm of the home; his children, Kelley Hamm and her partner, Mikey Bennett of Checotah, Abbey VanDyke and her husband, Michael of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Riley Hamm of Tulsa; his siblings, Karon Austin and her husband, Kenneth of Checotah and Joan Pickard and her husband, Tommy of Oktaha; his brother-in-law, Richard Blankenship and his wife, Helen of Salem, Oregon; his nephews and nieces, Kenneth Austin II, Kari Meaders, Danielle Blankenship and Jay Pickard; his granddaughter, Kagean VanDyke and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garner and Estell Hamm.
A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 211 W. Okmulgee St., Checotah, Oklahoma 74426.
Pallbearers will be: Cody Ayers, Mikey Bennett, Brad Carey, CJ Johnson, Ty Meaders, Josh Thompson, Nick Thompson and JT Townsend.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Austin II, Jimmy Hamm, Jay Pickard and Justan Pickard.
Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah.
