Richard Wesley Wells, 60, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home.
Richard was born on April 8, 1965, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Norman Tracy Wells and Leona Theresa (Maxwell) Wells.
He worked for many years as a carpenter in the construction industry prior to his retirement. Richard was of the Christian faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and creating new things with his hands.
In 2006, Richard met Christina Lee Schat, and together they shared 19 loving years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend—always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christina Wells, of the home; two sons, Richard Wells and his wife, Alison, of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Christopher Wells and his wife, Natalie, of Norman, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Nora Wells, Peyton Wells, Leona Wells, and one grandchild on the way; his brothers, Mike Wells of Texas and David Wells of Checotah; and his uncle, Richard Ulrich of Lake Texoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Leona Wells.
Honoring Richard’s wishes, cremation has been arranged. No services are scheduled at this time.
