Raymond L. Shell, (92), of Porum, Oklahoma, passed away on September 6, 2023.
Raymond, fondly known as Bill, was born to Letha and Basil Shell, on December 12, 1930, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Bill was a talented man that loved working with his hands. He enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting and fishing as will as gardening. He was an avid reader and loved working a good puzzle. Bill was a 20 year Navy veteran and retired as a Senior Chief. He also spent four years at Camp Lejeune assigned to the Marine Corp.
Bill is survived by his wife Helen and two children from a previous marriage, Robert, and Linda, as well as three grandchildren, Chris, Cody and Casey. As well as all the people he touched. Joe, Helen's son and Shirley Duke, Joe's wife are two of the finest people I have ever met and Dad loved them both. Aside from Bill's other likes he enjoyed paying a visit to the casino, but only with his lucky charm Helen. He loved a good joke and cutting up with people. Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand. As his son the Lord could not have blessed me with a better father.
Bill's family will host a funeral service on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. The service will be at the Hunn Funeral Home Chapel. Bill will be buried at the Fort Smith National Cemetery at 1 P.M.
