Norma Dean McFadden
1930- 2016
Long time native and resident, Norma McFadden 86, lost her short but hard fought battle with brain cancer on Monday. Norma was a graduate of old Central High School. After graduation she married L.J. McFadden. Together they started, owned and operated their business until Muskogee Rug Cleaners until L.J.s death in 1965. Norma then went in a new direction, enrolled in a cosmology school, becoming a beautician for the next 40 years. She operating her own shop in Indiana, then for J.C. Penny in Indiana and Oklahoma, and then retiring in her last shop at Fair Haven Manor in Muskogee.
Norma lived to serve the Lord, her fellow man and God's creation every day. She became a member of Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church and was involved in the choir for a short time. The care and love of animals was a passion with her that she held sacred to the end. Animal rights and Paws foundation she had a great respect for.
Norma is survived by her sister Jean Ray of Tulsa, her brother Winfred and wife Wimpy Lowrance of Muskogee, her son Boyd and daughter in law Sandra McFadden of Keefeton. Also has 7 grandchildren, Levi McFadden and wife Eva of Keefeton, Leah McFadden of Durant, Michelle Burns of Spring Hill Fla., Jodi Bodkin of Muskogee, Michael Bodkin and wife Vicki, and Jeffrey Bodkin both of Fort Wayne Indiana, Danny Byrd of Hattiesburg Mississippi. And she has 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Friday August 26, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church.
