Mozelle Marie (McElroy) Farrar

     Mozelle Marie Farrar, 92, passed from this life surrounded by her family on January 13th, 2022, at her daughter's home in Checotah, Oklahoma.  She was born in McIntosh County, Oklahoma, September 9th, 1929, to Ernest Alex McElroy and Josephine Foster, McElroy, Clark.
      Mozelle was a lifetime resident of McIntosh County.  She attended college for two years with her baby, Kathy, by her side.  She was a librarian and worked for the Checotah Library for nine and a half years and worked for Dr. Nelson Cornstuble in Checotah for many years. She was the caregiver for her husband, George Junior Farrar.  They were happily married until his death in 1982.  Together, they were blessed with 5 children.  She and her daughters, Annis and Kathy, were genealogists who researched their family tree for years, as well as many other families. Mozelle was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans.
      She was preceded in death by her husband, George; children, George Stephen Farrar and Kathy Elaine Whisenhunt; sister, Betty Jones; and brother, Theodore McElroy.  She is survived by daughters, Annis June Hill and husband Bobby of Checotah and Janice Marie Hill of Eufaula, son, Roland R. Farrar of Eufaula; Hazel Mann of Checotah, Dewynuah and husband Skip of Omaha, Nebraska, Mary Alittia Burks of Orville, California; brother, Larry McElroy of Checotah; grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Pearce, Mariann Marie Cochran, Bobbie Joann Tidmore, Denny Lee Hill, James Roland Hill, Heidi Alisa Whisenhunt, Hanni Inga Whisenhunt; great children, Isabell Taylor, Autumn Breanna, Elexas Rynn, Christopher Kyle, Kody, Ashley, Chloe, Tanna, Bryton Aron, Delilha Elaine, Kate Elaine, Laho Cheyenne, Nakia Nolan and Bradon Chevelle; great-great grandchildren, Emilia Rose, Adeline Marie, Tuff Elizabeth and Roper Wayne.  Mozelle was a large influence on her family and friends and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
      Visitation will be Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hunn Funeral Home, Checotah.  A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Hunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Tim Whisenhunt officiating.  Pallbearers will include Bobby Hill, Mike Tidmore, Dalton Cruz, Larry McElroy, Tim Frame, and Justin McElroy.  Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery following the service.
