Michael Ray McMahan

Michael Ray McMahan, 72, of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, at his home. Michael was born on August 18, 1951, in Commerce, Oklahoma, the son of Paul Eugene and Leah Ray (Burk) McMahan. He graduated from Commerce High School and later attended OSU Okmulgee studying Shoe, Boot and Saddle in 2001. On February 12, 1992, Michael married Sonya Louise Brown in Winfield, Kansas. They were happily married thirty-two years. Michael worked as a long haul truck driver and worked in construction prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Morris Church of Christ. In his free time, Michael enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and helping others.

Survivors include his wife, Sonya, of the home; sons, Ronald Marr III and wife Kristin of Henryetta, Stephen Taylor and wife Amy of Okemah; daughter, Leanna McMahan and husband Chad of Ponca City; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; nieces Krista and Jessie McMahan of Wichita, KS and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Leah McMahan; sister Kathy McMahan, brother Patrick McMahan and a son Joshua McMahan.
