Melvin Holt Obituary

Melvin Stanley Holt, 77, of Warner, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family.

Melvin was born on August 16, 1948, in New Boston, Texas, to Marion Henry Holt and Ruby Mae (McCright) Holt-Kirkland.

On November 20, 1981, Melvin married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Acuff, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Together they shared over 44 years of love, devotion, and treasured memories, building a life centered on faith, family, and unwavering commitment to one another.

Melvin graduated from Texas A&M University–Texarkana with a bachelor's degree in sociology and mathematics. He dedicated 11 years of service as a Quality Control Manager for Arch Coal Company before retiring in 2003.

A faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Melvin served as a deacon for many years. His quiet faith, gentle spirit, and servant's heart were evident in the way he lived each day. He was a man of integrity who found joy in helping others and living according to his beliefs.

Melvin found great happiness in building model ships and airplanes, taking pride in every detail of his work. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, and a proud great-grandfather. His kindness, wisdom, steady presence, and unconditional love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Holt, of the home; his sons, David Holt of Lavaca, Arkansas, Michael Holt and wife Vicki of Lumberport, West Virginia, and Patrick Holt and wife Patricia of Eufaula, Oklahoma; his cherished grandchildren, Santanna Gunn and spouse Maison, Adam Holt, Audra Holt, and Jesse Holt; three precious great-grandchildren; his aunt, Margaret Yates and husband Jack; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents, Marion Holt and Ruby Kirkland, and his sister, Vallery Watson.
