Mary Catherine Jefferson (Kae), 64, of Muskogee, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 7th, 2023.
Kae was born on September 5, 1958 to the late Virgil and Anita Dodson in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Kae graduated from Muskogee High School in 1976. She received her Associates degree from Connors State College and her BA from Northeastern State University in Speech Pathology. She received her MA in Speech Pathology at Tulsa University.
After graduating with a Master's degree in Speech Pathology, she began her career at the McAlester Scottish Rite Care Clinic in 1988. Kae had a 26-year career in Speech Pathology. She spent the majority of her career at the VA Medical Hospital in Muskogee. She retired from the VA Medical Hospital in 2014.
In 1977, Kae married Bobby Jefferson of Muskogee. Kae Jefferson and Bobby Jefferson have three children, Shae Jefferson 45, Danny Jefferson 41, and Angela Cohen 37.
In 2014, Kae retired and spent her time reading, writing, and being with her family.
Kae was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Dodson, her mother, Anita Dodson, brother, John Edward Dodson, and brother, Robert Dodson. She is survived by her two sons and daughter; Shae and Mandy Jefferson, Danny and Leslie Jefferson, Angela and Yaniv Cohen. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Grey and Fletcher Jefferson, Hazel and Magnolia Jefferson, Elijah, Ari and Elinor Cohen, and sister, Louise Dodson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
