Luven "Ven" (Hope) Adams

Luven "Ven" Adams, 91, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in Checotah, Oklahoma.

She was born March 1, 1932, in Inola, Oklahoma to Hazel (Deckard) Hope and Jess Hope. She grew up in Pierce and Checotah, Oklahoma.

Ven was a homemaker and worked in nursing homes most of her life.  She loved fishing and going to the casino.  She also loved being with family and making them fried pies.

Ven married Harley Adams on July 14, 1949, in Eufaula, Oklahoma. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harley; daughter, Roberta Coppin; granddaughter, Amy Adcock; daughter-in-law, Margie Adams; sister, Viola Chamberland; and brothers, Leon Hope, Hershel Hope and Tommy Hope.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruby Adams of Checotah; two sons, Doyle Adams of Quinton and Don Adams and wife, Barbara of Checotah; two sisters, Joyce Leathers and husband, Jim and Ollie Burnett and husband, Ray all of Checotah; one brother, Ronald Hope and wife, Laurie of Belleview, Nebraska; grandchildren, Mike Adams, Angie Lewis, Becky McGee, and Karla Ringle; great grandchildren, Harlea Adams, Savanna Adams, Sammie Adams, Kodie Lewis, Cooper McGee, Blakely McGee, Austin Ross, Mattie Bennett, Justin Adcock, Jessie Adcock and Sarah Adcock; great-great grandchildren, Emma Adcock, Jackson Adcock, Jolene Adcock and Kynlee Ross.

Visitation for Ven will be Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Checotah, Oklahoma.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Hunn Funeral Home Chapel in Checotah.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Prestidge, Ray Burnett, Jim Leathers, Michael Adams, Matt Ringle and Ronald Hope.
