Lois Carson-Foster Obituary
Lois May Moore Carson Foster, age 96, born August 13, 1920 in Stillwell, Oklahoma, departed this life on December 12, 2016 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Lois came to Muskogee at an early age, speaking only Cherokee. She grew up in Muskogee and graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1936. Lois met and married Calvin Carson. She and Calvin both worked at Camp Gruber during World War II. She later worked at Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Muskogee as a secretary. After Calvin's death, she married Speedy Foster. Lois and Speedy enjoyed dancing, travelling, and camping. Together they taught dancing for 25 years. They travelled to Europe, Japan and Mexico, sharing 25 wonderful years together.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Lizzie Moore; husband, Calvin Carson; and husband, Speedy Foster. She is survived by one son, Eugene Carson and wife Kathy; stepdaughter, Janet Wiseman and husband Tom; stepson, Mike Foster and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Tina Overturf and husband Jimmy, Waylon Carson and wife Rhonda, and Joe Carson; step-grandchildren, Patsy Wiseman, Brad Reed and wife Tiffany, Katelyn Vinson and husband Jakob; and great grandchildren, Amber White, Balie Overturf, Aspen Reed and Dacie Reed.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Lois will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 10:00 am at Christian Chapel in Muskogee.
