Lisa Rene` Kirby, 56, of Checotah, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025.
She was born April 29, 1968, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Gary Schubert Cooper, Jr. and Carol Pauline (Taylor) Cooper.
Lisa attended Haskell High School and later furthered her education attending Connors State College.
Lisa was employed by a local moving service as a packer.
She was a member of Stone Bluff Baptist Church in Haskell, Oklahoma.
Lisa enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. It brought her great joy attending her grandchildren’s softball games and fishing tournaments. Her children and grandchildren take great pride in her hard work and determination to succeed. She was a collector of Frankoma Pottery and she delighted in taking the boat out on the lake.
Survivors include her daughter, Brooke McDonald and her husband, Justin and their children, Madison and Cooper McDonald of Checotah, Oklahoma; her sons, Darryl Kirby and his wife, Shelbie and their children, Brooklynn, Bayleigh and Blakelynn Kirby of Bixby, Oklahoma and Gary Kirby and his wife, Ashley and their children, Peyton and Paisley Kirby of Haskell, Oklahoma; bonus granddaughter, Brooklynn Armstrong of Checotah; her siblings, Gary Cooper and his wife, Brenda of Locust Grove, Georgia and Regina Canterbury and her husband, James of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gary and Carol Cooper; grandparents, Jimmie and Juanita Foster; former husband, Danny Ray Friend and a beautiful niece, Taylor Jade Kinkade.
Honoring Lisa cremation is planned. A Celebration of Lisa’s Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, 1401 N. Haskell Blvd., Haskell, Oklahoma 74436 with Pastor Gary McKeen officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 211 W. Okmulgee St., Checotah, Oklahoma 74426.
