Leo Allen Utley, 92, formerly of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in Claremore, Oklahoma, surrounded by the legacy of a life well lived and deeply loved.
Born on May 18, 1933, in Chetopa, Kansas, Leo was the cherished son of Leo Edmond Utley and Roberta (Allen) Utley. He grew up with strong values of hard work, faith, and family—qualities that would define his life. After graduating from Labette County High School, he continued his education at Kansas State University.
Leo proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, carrying with him a quiet strength and sense of duty that remained throughout his life.
On August 30, 1952, Leo married the love of his life, Jenae C. Hucke. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on love, devotion, and family, sharing 67 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2020. Their bond was a true testament to lifelong commitment and partnership.
Leo dedicated his professional life to his work as a Senior Space Engineer, where his intelligence and passion contributed to meaningful advancements before his retirement. Yet, beyond his career, Leo was best known for his kind heart, gentle nature, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
A man of faith and a member of the American Legion, Leo lived with quiet humility and integrity. He found joy in the simple moments—time spent with family, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Brad Utley and his wife Jackie of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Lisa Coleman of Houston, Texas; and Bart Utley and his wife Cindy of Loveland, Colorado. His legacy continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
Leo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jenae Utley; his parents, Leo and Roberta Utley; his brothers, Bob and Donald Utley; and his son-in-law, Roy Coleman.
Though no services are scheduled at this time, Leo’s life will be honored in the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. His gentle spirit and steadfast devotion to family will never be forgotten.
