Kenneth "Smiley" Albert Mincher

Kenneth Albert "Smiley" Mincher, 80, passed from this life on August 14th, 2022, surrounded by his family.  Smiley was born in Okemah, Oklahoma on January 15th, 1942, to Alix Mincher and Alice Smith Mincher.

Smiley grew up in Checotah attending Checotah schools and has been a lifelong resident of the Checotah area.  He served two years in the Army Reserves. He met Romona Rhodes and they were married in Stigler, Oklahoma on April 14, 1969.  They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year.  She survives of the home.

 He was owner of Ken's Termite Control and was a prominent businessman owning numerous commercial and residential properties.  Besides his business ventures, Smiley loved his game chickens and antiques.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alix and Alice Mincher; father and mother in-law, Robert and Catherine Rhodes; son, Kelly Mincher; sisters, Ella Mincher and Margie Gordon.  He is survived by his dear wife, Romona of the home; sons, Eddie Mincher of Mannford, Oklahoma and Kenneth Mincher II and wife Jennifer of Checotah; daughters, Carolyn McElroy of Oklahoma and Shelia Garvin of Checotah; brother, Hoyt Mincher and wife Omei of Vancouver, Washington; grandchildren, Dustin, Justin, and Joshua Garvin and Hannah Mincher; eight great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate his life at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2022, at the Hunn Funeral Home chapel, 211 W. Okmulgee Ave., Checotah.  Interment will follow the service at Green Lawn Cemetery, Checotah.
