Kenneth Dale Jones

Kenneth Dale Jones, 90, of Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at his home. Kenneth was born on August 7, 1932, in Phillips, Texas, the son of Edwin Ross and Thella (Irwin) Jones. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951. He joined the United States Navy and served until June 1956 at the beginning of the Vietnam War.  Kenneth attended Connors State College, Frank Phillips in Borger, Texas and various trade schools. On September 17, 1958, Kenneth married Wanda McCormick in Stinnett, Texas. They were happily married for sixty-four years. Kenneth was dedicated to the church, serving as deacon for twenty-five years in Porum Landing and Freer, Texas. He attended Texanna Assembly of God.
Survivors include: his wife, Wanda, of the home; sons, Lanny Jones of Monte Vista, CO and William Jones of Checotah, Ok; daughters, Teretta Owen and husband Scott of Muskogee, OK;         and Christia Spafford of Muskogee, OK; sister in law, Susan Richardson; sister, Vicky Simpson and husband Dale; his  grandchildren, Deborah, Daniel Owen and wife Camille, Luke Owen and wife Kali, Sarah Owen, Laura Jones, Stephen Jones and wife Anna, Mary-Ann Jones, James Spafford and wife Melody, Rachel Ledbetter and husband Rocky; great grandchildren, Elijah, Darius, Gabriel, Lucas, Alvin, Silas, Dayson, Skyler, Haylee, Maycee, Aveleen, Damon, Austin and Ava. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Thella Jones; daughter, Cassandra Jones, mother and father-in-law, Marzette and Mary McCormick and a brother-in-law, Glen McCormick.
