Karlene Sue Ladtkow-Davis

Karlene Sue Ladtkow-Davis, 87, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 in Bixby, Oklahoma. She was born on March 26, 1936, the daughter of Otto and Aneta (Cook) Ladtkow, in Streator, Illinois. In 1942, the family moved to Chicago, Illinois where Karlene attended eight years of school. Then in 1950, they moved to Oklahoma where she attended Alice Robertson Junior High School during her ninth grade year and graduated in 1954 from Muskogee Central High School, Magna Cum Laude.
     Karlene was employed at Metropolitan Life Insurance from 1954 to 1964 in Muskogee and El Paso, Texas, Attorneys Shoemake and Summers in Muskogee and AATV and Elliott Real Estate in El Paso.
      On April 12, 1955, Karlene married John (Pat) Davis in Muskogee. The couple lived three years in El Paso. Pat served in the U.S. Army. They adopted Warren in 1964 and Marlene in 1966. Karlene enrolled at Bacone College in 1966 and graduated in 1967 with honors as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a school nurse at Bacone College from 1967 to 1973, until she was disabled. Her disability didn't stop her from ministering to family and friends.
      Karlene enjoyed reading, sewing for friends and family, crocheting, doing embroidery and bowling. She was known as Spookie on the CB Radio and still continued to be called by that name.   
      Karlene accepted Christ as her Savior in 1954 and was Baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Muskogee. In 1959, she became a member of Southeast Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 10 years and sang in the choir.
      Family members preceding her in death were her parents, first husband, John Pat Davis on June 21, 1990 and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Lorraine Ladtkow and Neil and Shirley Ladtkow; and second husband, Sonny Salmon.
      She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Robison of Broken Arrow, OK and her two children Jessica and Brittany Robison both of Bixby, OK; son, Warren Davis of Moore, OK and his two children, Ryan Davis of Durango, CO and Kolton Davis of Moore; one brother, Richard Ladtkow of Denver, CO and sister-in-law, Laura Lee Ladtkow of Melbourne, FL. 

      Honorary pallbearers are Richard Otto Ladtkow, Warren Patrick Davis, Ryan Patrick Davis, Kolton Drew Davis, Richard Keith Ladtkow, Tom Kyle Ladtkow, James Robert Ladtkow, Brenda Lou Ladtkow, Charlotte Elaine Gifford, Mark Odie Ladtkow, Bruce Ladtkow, Lorene Swieboda, Robert Todd Robison, Craig Elliott Hill, Peter Eichenberter, Robert McNair, Warren Brownelle (RIP).

      Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Southeast Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery.
