Karen Sue "Susie" Madewell

Karen Sue "Susie" Madewell, 67, of Council Hill, OK passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in Tulsa, OK. Karen was born on August 16, 1957, in Muskogee, OK to Richard Lee Brown and Lola Mae (Sisco) Brown. Karen married Thomas Madewell on November 16, 1991, in Muskogee, OK and together they had six children. 

Susie loved taking care of her dogs and being surrounded by her grandchildren and family. Any place she could travel to in her motor home to soak up some sunshine or light a campfire was what she enjoyed the most. Susie was a 2020 breast cancer survivor.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas of the home; three sons, Cody and wife Jessica Madewell, Joseph  and wife Bailey Madewell and Nathan Madewell; three daughters, Rachelle Hopson and husband Randy, Crystal Arden and husband Adam, Candie and husband Jeff Potts; one brother, Randy and wife Dorothy Brown;  twenty-one grandchildren, Dylan, Chase, Jordyn, Jonathan, Claire, Kourtlyn, Lane, Vivian, Faith, Avree, Aspen, Aaliyah, Bryson, Lincoln, Heidi, Carter, Lucas, Daryn, Shonna, Andrew, Kaya and one great grandchild, Milo.

Susie is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ricky Brown, Gary Brown and Ronnie Crossland; one sister, Sharon Richardson and one grandchild, Macy Davis.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at the Hunn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 211 W. Okmulgee Checotah, OK 74426 with Stanley Staton officiating. Pallbearers will be Chase, Jonathan, Dylan, Lane, Adam, Randy and Jeff. Honorary pallbearers will be Carter, Bryson, Jacob, Montana, Milo and Scotty. Burial will follow at Council Hill Cemetery.
