Karen Sue (Cunningham) Akin

Karen Sue Akin, 59, of Boynton, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at her home.

She was born September 28, 1965, in Richmond, Missouri, the daughter of Gary Wayne Cunningham and Betty Sue (Howard) Eppard.

Karen was a homemaker.

She married Jeffery Akin on February 14, 1997 in Clay County.

Karen enjoyed following and supporting the Kansas City Chiefs.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffery of the home; her children, Mark Akin of Boynton, Josh Akin of Kansas City, Missouri and Destinee Morgan and her husband, Brian of Muskogee; her grandchildren, Eileen Morgan and Jessee Morgan; her parents, Gary Cunningham and Betty Eppard; her siblings, Mark Cunningham and his wife, Jill of Smithville, Missouri and Danny Cunningham of Kansas City; her nephews, Kyle and Tyler Cunningham of Kansas City and numerous other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Albert Cunningham and others.

The family will conduct a private service on their own.
