Mr. John W. Lipsey, son of the late Dr. C.W. Lipsey and Nita Mae Hardison Lipsey, passed away after a long illness on December 25, 2021, in Blountstown, Florida.
John was born in Muskogee Oklahoma August 23, 1943. He graduated from Muskogee High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northeastern State University with a double major in Chemistry and Physics. He then went to work for Skelly Oil and soon left the lab and went into marketing working for numerous companies including Skelly, Getty and Texaco Oil.
He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life Patricia (Pat) Ellen Myers on September 29, 1966, and blessed with four children, April, Jackie, John, and Angie.
John was a member of numerous Christian churches and always maintained his faith with attendance at his home church, Sandusky Avenue Christian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. John enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was active in his grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed any family gathering.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, his two sisters, Mary Edith Young and Anita Lipsey, his daughter, April Kim Robertson, and grandchild, Alicia Dawn Williams. He is survived by two daughters Jackie Lynn Lipsey of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Angela Sue Schmitz of Baldwin, Wisconsin, son, John W. Lipsey II of Panama City, Florida, grandchildren Brittany Harris of Geary, Oklahoma, Dylan Robertson II of Kissimmee, Florida, Savana Pierce of Coweta, Oklahoma, Samantha Lipsey of Panama City, Florida and Christian Schmitz of Baldwin, Wisconsin.
John was a loving father and husband and will be deeply missed by his surviving family members.
Open visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Boulevard Christian Church, 1700 W. Shawnee, Muskogee, Oklahoma. A celebration of life will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022, at the church with Pastor James McCracken officiating. Pallbearers will be Greg Young, Greg Young II, Christian Schmitz, Larry Taylor, Cameron Youngblood and Jerry Youngblood. Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery.
