Obituary

Joe Lynn Elsey, 83, of Henryetta, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023.

He was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma on August 19, 1939, the son of Robert O. Elsey and Lois B. (Crocker) Elsey.

Joe served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked as a Metal Fabricator for Muskogee Iron Works prior to his retirement.

Joe enjoyed watching old western films, playing Yahtzee, dominoes, penny poker and horseshoes.

Survivors include his children, Cynthia (Larry) Edington of Okolona, Mississippi, Glenda (Vance) Frazier of Oktaha, Oklahoma and Joey (Angie) Elsey of Muskogee, Oklahoma; a sister, Billie Bowden and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, John Elsey and Robert Elsey Jr.; sisters, Mary Brewer and Mildred Scott.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, 1423 Cemetery Rd., Fort Gibson, Oklahoma 74434.  Interment will follow.
