Jo Ann Janway, 86, of Muskogee, died September 1, 2016 at Eastgate Village. She was born October 10, 1929 in Crowder, Oklahoma to Jack Eriah Love and Thelma Dimple Blansit. She moved with her family to Muskogee, Oklahoma where she was raised and educated. Her first job was working for the family business, Love Bottling Co. Jo Ann and her cousin Bill were to wash the windows on the Dr. Pepper trucks and as Jo Ann said, "they would get more water on each other than on the trucks."
Jo Ann graduated from Central High School in May of 1947 and married George Junior Janway on June 7, 1947. She was very active in her church home, First United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher, teaching four and five year olds for over 20 years. As a devoted mother, she was actively involved with many school functions for her children. Jo Ann was a PTA member and president, a band supporter, and fund raiser for many school functions.
Jo Ann enjoyed her many travels with the Severs Club, line dancing with her friends, and entertaining at her family home playing cards and dominoes, and building puzzles with a cast of family and friends.
She was a ministry of her own in sending notes to so many in the community - making it her own note ministry in thinking of others.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, George Janway in 1975, her father Jack Love in 1983, her grandson Jake Janway in 2003, her mother Dimple Love in 2005, her granddaughter Amber Osburn in 2009, and her grandson Jordan Janway in 2014.
