Jeff Francis

   Jeff Francis, 75, of Checotah, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.  He was born on February 1, 1946, the son of George and Mary (Wacoche) Francis in Henryetta, Oklahoma.  Jeff graduated from Pierce High School in 1964.  In 1965, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam aboard the USS New Jersey as a gunners mate.  He enjoyed OU football and softball.  He retired from boat building in 2011.  He lived in the Pierce, Checotah and Tiger Mountain areas his entire life.
      Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Johnnie Francis, George Francis and Mitchell Francis; and sisters, Mary Lee Edmundson, Leah Edmundson and Ellen Garcia.  He is survived by two sons, Robert Brownfield of Hoffman, OK and Jeff Francis, Jr. and wife Christina of Checotah; daughters, Tonya Jones of Austin, TX, Ava Morrison and husband John of Rio Rancho, NM and Lisa Francis of Checotah; eight grandchildren, brother, Robert Francis and wife Daisy of Claremore, OK; and sisters, Liza Shaver and husband Earl of Claremore and Rachel Richardson and husband Robert of Richmond, CA.
      Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19th at Hunn Funeral Home in Checotah.  Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday,  at Silver Springs Cemetery in Eufaula.  Pallbearers will be Mike Francis, Terry Francis, Brad Taylor, Rusty Edmundson, James Edmundson, Jayce Thrall and Travis Thrall.  Honorary pallbearers are Robert Francis, Rick (Buck) Francis and Earl Shaver.
