Ila Mae Propps, 92, stepped into eternity April 7th, 2022. Ila was born in Bea, Oklahoma September 8, 1929, to Joshua Derm and Ila (Miller) Dansby. She was lovingly known by her family as Snooks.
She grew up in Durant graduating from Durant High School. After high school, Ila worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. It was while working in Oklahoma City that she met her husband, Lowell Propps. They were married on February 21, 1952 until his passing in 1969.
Ila moved to Muskogee in the late 1990's after retiring from Tinker Air Force Base. She enjoyed working in her yard, arranging flowers, and was very active in her church. She was a member of the Assembly of God church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joshua and Ila Dansby; husband, Lowell Propps; daughter, Rita Propps; brother E.L. (Buddy) Dansby; sisters, Wanalla Cubley and Mary Flenniken. Ila is survived by her daughter, Janie Lloyd and husband Jack of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shannon Lloyd and Tarra Lloyd of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Avery Lohmann, Colton Webb, Conner Lacey, Jackson Lloyd, Lucas William; step grandchildren, Devin Lloyd, Ashtyn Mironcheck, Aaron Corrothers, and Cade Burk; two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends from church.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., May 6, 2022, at Fairview Baptist Church, 3510 W. Peak Blvd., Muskogee, OK. Chaplain Brent White will officiate.
