Harold J. Luke

Harold Luke, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee.  He was born on November 10, 1942, in Checotah, to Charlie and Wilma (Cantwell) Luke. After high school, he was drafted into the military where he served time in Vietnam. After returning home, he met and married Mary Jo Rush of Sedalia, Missouri. The two of them lived and worked in Missouri driving an ambulance for several years. They then moved to Checotah and drove a truck across the country for several years before retiring.
      Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two sisters, Katherine Duke and Bernice Rock. He is survived by his brothers, Donald Luke and wife Ruby, and Ronnie Luke and wife Cathy, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
     Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Hunn Funeral Home and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at First Freewill Baptist Church in Checotah with Pastor Mark Shores officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are the men of First Freewill Baptist Church. Military honors will be presented at the graveside by members of Fort Sill Honor Guard.
