Francine "Tina" Lynelle (Wilkinson) Atwood

Francine Lynelle “Tina” Atwood, 67, of Checotah, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee.

Tina was born July 31, 1957, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ronald Lee and Joyce Ann (Castleberry) Wilkinson.

Tina graduated from Magnolia High School in Anaheim, California in 1976. She worked as a Medical Billing Specialist. She also gave her time to the First Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Tina married Warren Glenn Atwood on October 22, 1997 in Decatur, Texas.

Tina dedicated her life to helping others. She especially cared about nonprofits, community fundraising, and cooking, which she used to uplift the spirits of the people around her. She also loved animals and took in many dogs and cats through her lifetime.

Survivors include her husband, Warren Atwood of the home; sons, Nicholas Sanders and his wife Stephanie of Rancho Cordova, California; Joshua Atwood and his wife Kayla of Burleson, Texas, Nathaniel Atwood of Tacoma, Washington and Ross Atwood and fiancé Megan also of Tacoma, Washington; her siblings, Frances Peters of Bethany, Oklahoma, Shelia Clift of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Joshua Ledford of Del City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Makio Sanders, Alexis Sanders, Tynlea Atwood and Landri Atwood; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Joyce Wilkinson and her brother-in-law, Chris Peters.

Honoring Tina cremation is planned. Viewing will be 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday, October 14, 2024 and Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 211 W. Okmulgee St., Checotah, OK 74426.

The family will conduct a Celebration of Tina’s Life on their own October 22, 2024. The location will be in the park at Oakwood Harbor South. In case of inclement weather, it will be held at the Oakwood Harbor South office.
