Edgar F. Miles

  Edgar F. Miles, 90, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at his home in Checotah, Oklahoma.  He was born on January 30, 1932 in Pennsylvania where he grew up and graduated from high school in Lancaster County.  Edgar and Madeline Moody married on July 15, 1977 in Maryland.  
      Edgar worked as a truck driver and for nine years worked at Walmart as a security guard.  He was a member of Westside Freewill  Baptist Church in Checotah.  
      He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Madeline Miles; step-sons, Henry Kerns and Jerry Kerns; step-daughter, Nancy Autry and grandson, Dallas Kerns.  Edgar is survived by his sons, John Kerns and wife Kay of Checotah, Tommy Kerns and wife Sharon of Sinking Springs, PA; daughter-in-law, Lanita Kerns Firestone and husband Thomas of Sperry, OK and sons, Edgar Allen Miles and David Scott Miles of Pennsylvania.
      Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service.  Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah with Pastor Raymond Coats officiating.
