Douglas Lee McSparen, 70, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born October 24, 1950 in Ottumwa, Iowa.
During the Vietnam War, Douglas served his country in the US Army from 1967 to 1973 and received the Purple Heart. He worked as a commercial truck driver. He had a deep love of animals. He enjoyed horses, dogs and cats and he wouldn’t wander too far away from any of them.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Donald McSparen and Mary Scott; son, Douglas, daughter, Jackie, and brother, Dennis. He is survived by his sister, Debbie Hedgecock of Noblesville Indiana, brothers, Donald and David of Oskaloosa, Iowa, four nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
