Dick Gordon Stowers

Dick “Gordon” Stowers, 73, of Checotah, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

He was born October 15, 1950, in Sentinel, OK, the son of Dr. Aubrey E. Stowers and Mary C. (Van Gorder) Stowers.

Gordon graduated from Sentinel High School and furthered his education attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK.

Gordon was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Checotah, OK.

Survivors include his brother, Dan W. Stowers of Hendersonville, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Major Gene Stowers who served in the United States Air Force and was killed in action during the Vietnam War and Bill K. Stowers.

Honoring Gordon cremation is planned.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 419700 US-266, Checotah, OK 74426.
