Dean Allison Obituary

With deep love and cherished memories, the family of Dean Dewain Allison announces his peaceful passing on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Eufaula Manor in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Dean was 89 years old.

Dean was born on June 27, 1937, in Wister, Oklahoma, to Virgil and Lenna (Browning) Allison. Throughout his life, he was known for his hardworking spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family.

Dean found great joy in the simple things that brought him happiness. He loved roping horses, working cattle, and the open road. As the owner and operator of his own trucking company, he took great pride in his work. He later spent approximately eight years driving a fuel truck for Flying J Travel Stop, where his dedication and dependable nature were appreciated by those who worked alongside him. When the day's work was done, Dean could often be found enjoying music with a guitar in his hands, sharing one of the things he loved most.

Above all else, Dean treasured his family. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Lee Temple Allison, with whom he shared his home and life; his stepchildren, Sean and Michele; his beloved grandchildren, Jerry and Jenna Kate, Brittney, Sean Jr., Olivia, Eric, and Michael; several great-grandchildren, including his precious newest great-granddaughter, Sophia, who brought him so much joy; one great-great-grandchild; a sister in California; his sister-in-law, Nancy Allison; and many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.

Dean was welcomed into eternal peace by those who went before him: his parents, Virgil and Lenna Allison; two infant daughters; his beloved son, Jerry Dean Allison; his grandson, Jason; his precious great-grandson, Aven; his brother, Charles Allison; his brother, Damon Allison; and his sister, Delores.

Though his family grieves his passing, they are grateful for the many years of love, laughter, and memories they shared with him. Dean's quiet strength, generous heart, steadfast work ethic, and deep love for those closest to him will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and, in the family, he loved so dearly.

In honoring Dean's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a family-conducted Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Checotah, Oklahoma.

Dean will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
