Clara Lula (Stewart) July

Clara Lula July, 84, went to her eternal home, Saturday, September 17th, 2022.  She was born on July 30th, 1938 in the Central High community to Lee Stewart and Nora (Jamison) Stewart.
      Clara grew up in the Central High community and attended Checotah schools.  She also attended Tulsa Community College and Connors State College, where she earned her Associate of Arts degree.
      She met Joe July and they were happily married until his passing in 2000.  Their union was blessed with four children.  They later adopted two grandchildren who became their sons.
      Clara worked as a dispatcher for the Checotah Police Department and the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office.  She enjoyed crocheting, attending her children's sporting events, and watching Judge Judy.  Clara loved her church and was a faithful member of the Deep Fork Hillabee Baptist Church in Onapa.  But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
      Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Nora Stewart; daughters, Joy Amber and Lajoya Davis; son, Jeremy July; sister, Lucille Rauls; brothers, Lee Roy Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, Bennett Stewart, and Jackie Stewart; and grandson, Jesse Amber.  She is survived by sons, Danny July of Oklahoma City and Keith July of Checotah; daughter, Sonya July of Moore, Oklahoma; sisters, Faye Storm of Eufaula and Edith Jones of Sand Springs; eleven grandchildren, Melody, Misty, Craig, Tiffany, Troy, Laura, Sunjun, Brittany, Cassie, Trinity, and Bentli; seven great grandchildren; son-in-law, James Davis and her beloved cat, Jazz.
      Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Hunn Funeral Home in Checotah.  A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022 in the Deep Fork Hillabee Baptist Church in Onapa.  Reverends Steve Holata, Tom Pickering and Dennis Bible will officiate.  Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Pallbearers will be James Davis, James Joiner, Darren Glover, Dean Frazier, Andy Blizzard and Steve Smith.
