Carla DeAnn (Highwood) Highwood

Carla D. Highwood, 66, of Checotah, passed away at her home on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

She was born November 17, 1958, in Salida, Colorado, the daughter of Daniel T. Highwood and Geraldine J. (Sandoval) Staley.

Carla graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1977.  She worked as a Graphic Artist before her retirement.  She was of the Baptist faith.  She loved the outdoors and animals.  She enjoyed camping, fishing and most of all helping others.

Survivors include her mother, Geraldine Staley of Cedar Hills, Texas; two brothers, Michael Highwood of Ely, Minnesota and Patrick Highwood of Cedar Hill, Texas; uncle, Arvil Jackson of Checotah; aunt, Pattie Jackson of Checotah; two cousins, Scott Jackson of Checotah and Stefani Jackson-Huber of Subiaco, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Highwood.

Honoring Carla, cremation is planned.  No services have been scheduled at this time.
