Alta Mae (Yandell) Gray

Alta Mae Gray, 96, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on August 31, 2022.
She was born to Alvin and Becky (Upton) Yandell on August 14, 1926, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. Alta grew up in Vian, Oklahoma. She married Harlie Gray at the age of 16. The couple was blessed with eight children. Alta loved to cook and care for her husband and family. She loved to garden and sew. Alta and Harlie were married 44 years before he passed away. 
      Alta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and daughters, Mildred Ann Gray, Saundra Gray, Judy Carol Carter and son, Harlie Gray, Jr.; brothers, Jack Yandell, Louie Yandell, Johnny Yandell and sister, Voler Todd.  She is survived by sons, Larry Gray and wife Kelly and Mark Gray and wife Tracy all of Muskogee; daughters, Patricia Bays and  husband James of Kaiser, Oregon and Deloris Wilson of Oklahoma City; brothers, Charles Yandell and wife Debra of Muskogee and Cleo Yandell of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; sister, Faye Vannoy of North Carolina; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
