Ralph Wayne Jimerson was born on March 3, 1956 in Pierce, OK to Pearlie Mae (Jimerson) Westbrook and World War II Sgt. James L. Guillory. Ralph grew up in the Pierce/Checotah area, and he was very close to his grandmother Lonteen “Mama Tee” Jimerson. He earned the nickname “Rocco Mo” and many people called him that throughout his life. Ralph attended Checotah Public Schools and graduated from Checotah High School with the class of 1975. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and attended culinary school while living in Wichita, KS. During this time, Ralph met Tonya Russell-Adams, and they welcomed a son, Emmanuel Russell. Ralph later moved back to Oklahoma and lived in Muskogee for many years. He relocated to Checotah in 2016.
Ralph enjoyed cooking, watching Judge Mathis, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, and listening to R&B music (Al Green and James Brown were his favorites). He was a very quiet person, but he was a kind soul and was loved very much by his family.
Preceding Ralph in death was his son Emmanuel, his sister Patrice Westbrook, his brothers Carl Westbrook Jr. and Donald Jimerson, his grandmother Lonteen and his parents James and Pearlie Mae. He is survived by his granddaughter Emmeshia Akingbade of Laurel, MD; great-granddaughter Rhema Akingbade; brothers Anthony Jimerson of Tulsa, James Westbrook of Checotah, Rodney Moffett of Eufaula, Michael Mack of Checotah and Keith Guillory of Riverside, CA; sister Carolyn VanHook of Muskogee; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members, as well as a lifetime of friends.
Family conducted memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Checotah, Oklahoma.
